Co-founder, Artistic Director and Director of Choraliers, holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Music Education (Vocal and Instrumental) from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is certified in the Kodaly Method and the Orff Approach, Level III, and the Choral Music Experience. She has taught Elementary Vocal Music in public schools and churches for 30 years in Mississippi and Missouri. She currently teaches at Robinson Elementary in the Kirkwood District. Mrs. Steele has directed children's choruses and has produced many school musicals She taught instrumental music for 16 years and is a flute soloist. She is certified in the Creative Artistry and Choral Music Education in conducting children's choirs. Mrs. Steele has served on staff for the Indianapolis Children's Choir Summer Festival. She has studied Choral Conducting with Joan Gargorki, Henry Leck, and Dr. Doreen Rao. She is a member of MMEA, MENC, ACDA, and the St. Louis Orff Schulwerk Association, of which she is past President.
BRIDGETTE ZIMMERMANNDirector of Concert Choir, graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Vocal Music and a Master of Arts in Education (M.A.E.). Mrs. Zimmermann has performed as a member of the Robert Shaw Chorale and previously directed choral ensembles at Washington University. She made her international directing debut when she directed the Kirkwood Children's Chorale Tour Choir through England in 2006. Mrs. Zimmermann holds Level I and II certification in the Orff Approach and has studied choral conducting with internationally known conductor and teacher, Mr. Henry Leck. She is a co-founder and co-director of Xylomania!--a summer music enrichment program for St. Louis students entering grades 1 - 5. Mrs. Zimmermann is the president of the St. Louis American Orff Schulwerk Association and is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, Missouri Music Educators Association, and MENC--the National Association for Music Education. She is the music specialist at Barretts Elementary School in the Parkway School District where she was selected as Teacher of the Year in 2007.
JEFF LACKEYDirector of Cambiata Singers, is in his 9th year of teaching. He is the current choir teacher at Parkway Central Middle School where he directs all choirs 6-8th grade. He has taught ages pre-k-12, but has spent most of his teaching carrier in the middle school ages. He is the recipient of the MCDA Prelude Award 2003. Mr. Lackey has directed and judged at a variety of conferences in the South Central District. His choirs have performed around the United States and Canada including performing at the 2004 State Music Educators Conference. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Vocal Music Education – Magna Cum Laude from Southwest Missouri State University, Springfield, MO. He is completing his Masters in Music Education with an emphasis in technology at UMSL this summer. He is a member of MENC and ACDA.
PATTI WOOTTENDirector of Choristers, received Bachelor Degrees both in Music Education and Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Mrs. Wootten taught vocal music at McNair Elementary in the Hazelwood School District for five years. Patti retired from the Administrative Offices in the Ladue School District in 2005 where she worked with grants and the district's curriculum library. This fall Patti will begin her thirtieth year as Director of the Carol Choir, a children's choir at Manchester United Methodist Church. This choir provides music in song and sign for church services as well as the community, and has been selected to sing for the annual conference of United Methodist Women. She also has served as Wedding Coordinator for her church for seventeen years Patti taught sign language in the College For Kids program at St. Louis Community College for six years, and currently directs Expressions of Praise, an adult group that performs programs in song and sign.
TRACY ST. CLAIRDirector of Carolers, graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Vocal Music and a Master of Arts in Education (M.A.E.). She previously taught at United Services in St. Peters, Missouri. Mrs. St. Clair received her Level I and II Orff Certifications and Level I Kodaly Certification from Webster University in St. Louis. She is presently teaching music at Keysor Elementary School in the Kirkwood School District, where she directs multiple children's choirs and ensembles during the school year. Mrs. St. Clair also serves as the Vocal Music Coordinator for the Kirkwood School District and was recently named "Teacher of the Year" for her school. She co-founded and directs the Xylomania Summer Workshops for children in the St. Louis area and has presented workshops to music teachers for the St. Louis Orff Schulwerk Association and the Kirkwood School District. She is a volunteer for the American Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is a member of MMEA, MENC, ACDA and the American Orff Schulwerk Association.
