It is with hearts full of appreciation and admiration that the Kirkwood Children’s Chorale Administrative Board announces the retirement of KCC co-founder, Mimi Steele, at the end of the 2016-2017 season.
Twenty-five years ago, Mimi Steele and Mary Poshak had a dream: offer musically gifted children the opportunity to sing musical works of the great masters. Offered as an augmentation to school and church music programs, children were provided with opportunities to make beautiful music around the world. This endeavor has been lovingly nurtured by the hard work and boundless dedication of Mimi, and we will never be able to fully express our gratitude. The dream has flourished and with ongoing care will continue to thrive. While we will miss her smiling face, we embrace this change and look to the future for Kirkwood Children’s Chorale.
At the 2017 Spring Concert, we will celebrate 25 years of KCC and wish Mimi a most blissful retirement. In the meantime, please know that the KCC Administrative Board is actively making plans and searching for staff to carry us into our next twenty five years.
